I have been on Percoset for 1-1/2 years. I am stopping for about 3 weeks.?

Will I get withdrawal symptoms? What kind? I am stopping to try something else instead of narcotics, and, to be honest, so far the pain is incredible. I have a fractured spine, and have been given flexeril, naproxen and zanaflex (for at night) Help! I got my Dr. ok to try

Yes you will get withwrawl symptoms, you will feel like you have the flu, you will get restless legs and feel real achey all over. It depends on how much you were taking and for how long how bad the symptoms will be.

Well, if you can bear the pain, but try acupuncture, or alternative medicine. But the medicines are made to cure, they all have side effects, definitely go to the doctor.

I would ask your doctor to refer you to a pain specialist first before you try getting off cold turkey. The pain specialist will help you learn ways to manage the way you handle your pain and your medications. Otherwise you may end up addicted to your pain medication. Which I’m sure you don’t want.

You really should be on a weaning dose, don’t just stop the medication cold turkey, that could actually make your pain worse.
