Doc said "no more NSAIDs. What narcotic has least side effects for osteoarthritis pain.?

I hate to go to a narcotic, but my doctor said thats the next step because of gastric irritation from years of strong NSAIDs. I also have Fibromyalgia and have started Savella, which increases my energy but doesn’t help the OA pain. Acetamenophen( tylenol) helps a little but still lots of pain. Any input appreciated. Thanks.
Tramidol sounds good, but Savella insert says don’t use it (my Doc even recommended it at first) but it also says dont use it with Prosac, which Ive used for years. ??? Savella is my last hope for the FM.
Im MUCH older than the picture!

I’ve actually encountered almost the same thing. I have rheumatoid arthritis and had to stop taking NSAIDS because I kept getting stomach ulcer from them. I am still looking for an effective medicine to help ease some of the pain but have not had any luck so far.

There is one medicine, it IS a NSAIDS but it is a topical lotion and all you do is pour a few drops on the inflammed area and rub it in.

For me it worked pretty well but it stopped working after taking it for about 2 months. Also, I’m not sure how old you are but kids are not supposed to be taking it (no idea why- that’s just what my doctor told me.) It’s called Pennsaid.

As for the narcotics, each one effects everybody differently. Some people may have side effects others may not. Your doctor should be able to give you a prescription for what he or she thinks will suit you best, you don’t usually get a choice. I’m assuming you are not very old? Maybe a teenager? So your doctor will most likely prescribe you tylenol (2 or 3) with codeine or percocet depending on the amount of pain your in. Personally, I find the percocet works better, but Tylenol has less side effects.
Good luck, I really hope you find something that works.
