I am also a pharmacist too. I hate giving out narcs. NOBODY SHOULD BLAME ON PHARMACIST

  2. duffmann2000 Says:

    I am a pharmacist, …
I am a pharmacist, and I can tell you there is little I can do to prevent Dr. shopping for a new cash patient. Sure you can call the MD and confirm the likely valid script (and of course we have loads of time to do that, and the MD’s will surely love our vigilance). This needs to be a team effort, starting with the prescriber establishing a patient relationship, verifying gov. issued ID, and supporting the development of a centralized database for controlled-sub prescriptions. Not an easy task.

They’re not blaming the pharmacy, they’re suggesting that there should be checks and balances to prevent a person from being able to buy multiple amounts of pills.

    This is a retarted …
This is a retarted segment…walking into pharmacies with prescriptions and then blaming the pharmacy?!?!?!? What is this trying to prove?

I question going to extreme lengths to protect people from themselves.

    You are right. The …
You are right. The problem is with the hidden addicts who get drugs from friendly doctors(like Michael Jackson and Ana Nicole Smith)and the overmedicated by pill-pusher doctors. If the pills I am told to take cause anal leakage, impotence, liver problems, my breasts to lactate(I am male) and dyarreha I want a second opinion.

    I think more …
I think more regulations might help. Right now, a lot of drs. are so scared of lawsuits and doctor shopping that a lot of people who actually need pain medications for a legitimate condition get screwed. Perhaps if dr’s knew that doctor shoppers wouldn’t be able to fill multiple Rxs from multiple drs, they’d be more willing to help chronic pain patients.

I’m kinda torn by the issue, as a huge lib. if you want a load of drugs and kill yourself, your stupid sad day for you. if you took them as prescribed and the Doc didn’t look into other conditions or med’s that you were on. thats why I research any drug a doc gives me. guess in the end, legal drugs or illegal your gonna do what your gonna do.

  9. ToPeeOrNotToPee Says:

    I just don’t …
I just don’t understand why how more regulations would help preventing this “pharmacy shopping” issue.. in my opinion the person who needs those types of medications will get it in some way or another, some ways are more costly than others but at the end this person will get it no matter how many regulations we have. on the other hand I see that working on substituting those medications with less addictive medications will help our community more.

hahaha, trust me, no pharmacy will know how many people have picked up how many narcotics.

    yet cannabis is still illegal.

  12. EscpdFrmPsykward Says:

    This is why …
This is why cannabis should be legal. At least you can’t take a dangerous amount of weed, so who cares how many times someone gets his prescription filled?
