How long does it take opiates to take effect after last dose of methadone.I was on methadone for chronic pain and almost died ,so now i am being weaned off of that with another narcotic,so i don’t go through withdrawls and for the pain.I was just wondering how long the withdrawls can last and when will i feel the benefits of the opiates?

I do not completely understand your question. Did you overdose on the methadone or have a allergic reaction to it? The effects of opiates usually take effect right away. The other thing is are you being taken off methadone and put on another narcotic because your are continuing in pain management treatment? But realize that methadone is not an opioid it is an opioid blocker to subdue the withdraw effects of opioid narcotic medications and is one of the safest long term pain management medications when properly taken and managed by a qualified pain management Dr. Hope this helps.
