Thank you again. I was brought into AA when I was four years old (not a misprint) by my mother who was getting sober and I was told that I surely had this “disease” since both of my parents “had it.” I just turned 30 and I just started waking up about six months ago. This video series has certainly helped in my awakening. Keep rockin on.

How many people suffer in silence, I wonder? Despite my previous brain washing, I always cared when people were suffering. But then I’d be told to stick with the winners. In fact, I remember being told that I was ‘taking on someone else’s pain’ and I was being codependant to worry. If someone in AA stays clean, AA take all the credit. When people (inevitably) don’t, or feel suicidal, AA blame the individual. Another great video, thank you!

AA has many …
AA has many contradictions. First you are suppose to be “other’s centered” or aulturistic, & then when you care it is “none of your business”. AA mtgs. do not teach or promote healthy communication. I finally realized AA can’t even properly identify the problems nor has any reality based solution. AA can cause people to go insane trying to figure out their contradictory, illogical nonsense. I am happy that I deprogrammed from being in a cult.

AA is a war waged on the self for no good reason alcoholism is not a disease or a dis-ease. It’s a choice, you choose to drink or not regardless of the ease or difficulty. The religious cult of AA does not work or care. It never did & never will.

humy, You’re absolutely right. Being told it’s a ‘selfish’ programme and then admonishing you for being selfish! Very confusing to say the least. And that is one example of many. I’m glad you’ve left and have managed to deprogramme from it.
AA is at the most, damaging, and at the least, ridiculous and illogical.
