I have 10 years 6 month clean and I have had sometimes I wanted to use but I always knew that no matter I didn’t really want to and I have a close relationship with my sponcer. So I would call him in a heart beat, Thank you for showing haters that we do recovery.

your experience at one year?
I found around 5 was even closer to a drink(I had a lot more going on) at times but by then I intuitively knew what to do.we will always find times we have to fake it till we make it. thanks for your opinion of your treatmentcenters and experiences staying sober

I heard it said from someone who went to a treatment center that 1 in 10 people get clean. Well that is 10%. It is better than 0%. I have friends in the program that have years clean. I guest it depends on if you really want to stay clean. The guy that told me that he has been though 4 different treatments with 4 to 7 years between. Now he has 10 years clean next month. That is my 2 cents

i know this is going to read as arrogant, but any one (w/9 days, 9 months or 9 years) who describes him or her self as a ‘friend of bill w’ is just … lost.
i think i’d rather be a friend of henry kissinger … or joan crawford.

It’s just my story what happened so I’m not really gettin at anything specific other than how well treatment works.
Since you’re still new to the twelve steps I will tell you that once you accept what science and medicine have to say about “disease” you will realize why it doesn’t work for 95% of people. If that happens you may be able to put your addiction behind you forever. It is not a disease and you have full power over it. Free your mind and your will follow.

Not sure where you;re getting at…But I’m also a friend of Bill W, coming on 9 months clean. Never thought that would’ve happened with me, concidering I’m 19 years old, but it did. Sounds like you’re doing good man, and its a shame to see so many people not stay clean, but it is a very very hard disease to maintain. Stick with it my friend, and best regards!
