Talk to your doctor about this. S/he may be able to prescribe something that will help your medical conditions that are not narcotics, as well as something that will help you get through the transition.
Good luck!

I am an addict and for me what helps me to this day, even with cravings for opiates. There is a medication out there called ‘Suboxone’,I have been taking this medication for almost 1 year now. This medication stops ALL withdrawls, and also stops ALL the cravings that addicts have for their drugs.Although, you must find a doctor how holds a special license to be able to prescribe this medication to their patients. Not just any doctor can prescribe this medication, and it has done wonders for me in my recovery. And if you start taking ‘Xanax’ or any other kind of ‘benzo’ you will then become addicted to those as well. You should call around and ask for a doctor who can/will prescribe you this medication. You can also go into a rehab, they will have a doctor that can prescribe this medication to you.If you have NO insurance, most facilities have what is called a "spin-down" program.Which is designed for patients who have no health insurance,or for low-income,and this way you might not even have to pay 1 single bills for your care,or you might have to only pay a small amount, in monthly installments. It really depends where you live also,if your in the states then you should be able to locate one of these facilities.Start by calling 311,I strongly suggest that you get yourself into a rehad center, because going through withdrawls is NO day in the park….if your last pill was this morning then your withdrawls will most likely be full blown by this time tomorrow….I have Fibro along with a connective tissue disease and also other health issues that also cause me great great pain. Now I take the ‘Suboxone’ which is closely equal to morphine,in relieving pain…just without the dope…..I hope you try to do something before the withdrawls come in to play…..you know as well as I do that the withdrawls are awful for anyone….I wish you the best and GOD bless…:).

And also, you do not want to replace 1 drug for another thinking that it will actually help you through your withdrawls…..Xanax,Methadone will only make it much worse…I was severely addicted to Methadone and I was taking about 60 pills a day during my addiction.Again best of luck to you…:).
Since you mention that you love your baby boy, then why do you keep on picking up the narcotics again? I will give you a good suggestion that will most likely help you. Please try to get a referral to a pain management doctor. These doctors specialize in nothing but chronic pain management and since what you have will be chronic for the rest of your life then why not go? For now you need to concentrate on keeping hydrated with 8-10glasses of water daily and you need to stay away from allot of fluoridated tap water as this can cause kidney stones and also keep the enzymes for your immune system, so you don’t get physically ill with younger children. This way you also are taking any number of drugs or a drug along with a treatment that will help you. You need to have the maximum effect with the minimum of drugs here to make your day go better for you both. For now, if you actually think the withdrawal will be detrimental to your health, or that for some reason it might cause another chain reaction please have someone drive you to the hospital where the doctor that wrote you the medication is on staff. Then they can call him/her from the ER for instructions. If that’s a problem then go somewhere else and explain the problem to them. Good luck and God Bless

BTW- Even after you get into pain management it’ll be an uphill battle almost everyday. You’ll need support from places like NA to help you through.
