Drug abuse and Garth Prison
Manditory drug testing was introduced in prisons in 1997, according to Dr. Shelia M.Gore this policy encourages prisoners to take harder drugs such as Herionn to escape detection, many immates agree with her. Meanwhile the health service sees Methadone as the drug of choice when it comes to detox treatment. However Dr. Beani a private specialist describes this this course of treatment as verging on the scandalous. He advocate the use of Naltroxane as the only effective way for patients to be rid of their habit. With treatment costing £500 ( $1000) few would agree with him but is’nt society funding the addicts habit anyway to the same cost if not more through crime.
Originally shot for inclusion in WTN “Roving Report” this story got shelved with many others when the company merged with AP to become APTN.
The production company formerly Rainbow Broadcast Productions became Media Impact some years ago.
