No because by outlawing either of these you just get more crime through illegal trading of it and if people want to hurt their bodies they can (Although 1 glass of beer a day is good for you.) I think If people just drank more responsibly then we wouldnt have these problems.

You are correct in your statement about marijuana. A user is at the same level of danger (or less) in its use than either alcohol or the continual use of tobacco. It would make more sense if either marijuana was legal or alcohol and tobacco were illegal.
Don’t worry, I think our country is on the track to outlaw tobacco, which makes me somewhat sad (this is supposed to be a free country).
I wouldn’t hold my breath for alcohol to be illegalized again. We all know what happened last time we tried to do that.

The simple answer… alcohol and tobacco companies pay millions to lobbyists to protect their rights. Politicians need votes to stay in office, and these lobbyists represent votes.
Drug users, on the other hand, don’t vote in large numbers, and don’t have powerful lobbyists backed by large amounts of money.
Making alcohol and tobacco illegal would not solve the problem, it would just create illegal and unregulated sales, and the goverment would lose out on billions in taxes.

Alcohol and tobacco should not be made illegal. Marijuana should be made legal, and taxed and regulate by the govt. It would be a big windfall for the IRS and American farmers if marijuana were made legal. How ridiculous is it that the NFL suspends players for months and even a year, if they are caught with marijuana in their system? What right does the NFL have to test players for marijuana, as it is not a performance enhancing drug?

Alcohol causes the most deaths, through drunk driving, alcohol poisoning, and sparking domestic violence. Now I will explain why they should all be illegal. People always say "It’s my choice" and "It’s none of the governments business what I put into my body." To say ignorant things like that would be treason in most countries, but not the good old USA. Even in the USA though, you are only free to the extent that you do not infringe on someone else’s freedom. Smoking tobacco subjects others to second hand smoke, and smokers collectively omit more pollution and cause more damage to the ozone in one year than if all the vehicles in the world ran nonstop for 3 years. Smoking marijuana also subjects others to secondhand smoke and, like alcohol, alters the user’s inhibitions. Lots of people "intelligently" decide to drive after smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol which subjects others to one of the greatest dangers out there. The odds are worse than Russian Roulette. Therefore, taking advantage of those freedoms, the freedom to speed up your own death and lessen the quality of your own life, infringes on the freedom of others. Think of it this way, you may have the right to become intoxicated, but I have the right to not be killed by you when you think you can operate a vehicle. In the same way, you may have freedom of speech and the ability to show your lack of intelligence through the use of profanity and racial slurs, but I have the right to not have to be subjected to such offensive things. When our Fore-Fathers wrote out the Constitution and declared our countrie’s independence, they had a vision of freedom and justice unparalleled. Little did they know how abusive citizens would be towards these rights and how grotesquely they would interpret them. I dare say they would "re-word" a few things. It is sad, how the best thing about this country has quickly became the worst. Yes, all three of these foul substances should be illegal, and we shouldn’t stop there either.

It is not an illegal substance or narcotic. However, restrictions shall be considered, and restrictions in which are within the constitution. I understand where you are coming from, however, if the outlaw those items guns would be on the verge of being outlawed, except for law enforcement, and the NRA would not like that, neither would I, and I have had a loved one killed by a gun. The fact of the matter is, restrictions on these items shall be considered, however not outlawed. If the government outlawed alchohol, it would be another 1920s prohibition.
